WimberleyArts.org presents Rising Stars of Wimberley, a youth-centric music festival celebrating the next generation of local musicians. This free community event will take place at the Emily Ann Theatre on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 1:00–6:00 p.m.
This one-day festival will showcase talented young performers from across the Wimberley Valley, offering them an inspiring platform to perform, connect, and build community through the arts.
Performing artists include:
• Wimberley High School Jazz Band
• Dearly Departed — A locally based group of WHS and KAPS students who blend multiple genres to create fun, original music.
• Sam Downing and the Bandits — Performing original Americana inspired by Central Texas honky-tonks and storytelling traditions
• Hemlock (formerly The Snow Brothers) — Beck, Barrett, and Ezra performing original Americana music
• Wimberley High School Choir (Director: Sharon Bourbonnais) — A varsity a cappella octet performing contemporary pop and choral music
• Imogene and Waylan Grueneberg — Waylan (cello and guitar) and Imogene (violin)
• Soma Jerome — A psychedelic indie-rock band formed by cousins Elliot Richards and Loki Hunter, Carson Weems, Sammy Shelor, and Miles Love
With performances alternating between two outdoor stages at the Emily Ann Gardens in Wimberley, the music will play continuously throughout the afternoon.
Under the WimberleyArts.org umbrella, Rising Stars of Wimberley serves as a key outreach initiative for Wimberley Texas Music Friendly Communities and builds awareness for the Robert Moreman Memorial Scholarship Program (RMMS) program, strengthening pathways for youth participation in the arts.
The RMMS supports bright, hardworking students with financial assistance to pursue their post-high school creative aspirations. Scholarships are awarded annually to graduating seniors from Wimberley High School and Katherine Ann Porter School, as well as homeschooled and single gap-year students within the 78676 zip code. Applicants must demonstrate strong aptitude in and sustained commitment towards pursuing a career related to one of Wimberley Art’s four artistic pillars—visual, performing, literary, or culinary arts—or, in honor or Robert Moreman’s profession, the building trades.

By centering youth voices and creativity, Rising Stars of Wimberley deepens arts engagement, spotlights local talent, and expands awareness of the Robert Moreman Memorial Scholarship—ultimately increasing access and opportunity for the next generation of Wimberley artists, creators, and makers.
